Ali n' Productions organizes
a yearly contest of short-length screenplays throughout
the Kingdom. This competition is called
the "Mohamed REGGAB Prize".
The contest exists because there
are many creative people in Morocco who have a
desire to express their vision through images,
but lack the skills or financial means to do so.
This is due to a lack of financial support or
to the fact that these budding artists oftentimes
feel too isolated. They need a nurturing
environment and a safe structure that is able
to supervise them, while enabling them to flourish.
This potential exists and must be brought to life,
as it is vital for the future of Moroccan cinema.
Mohamed Reggab is a director who left his distinctive
mark on the film industry. When he died
at the age of 48 on October 16, 1990, he left
behind a unique legacy, including the wondrous
film "Le coiffeur de quartier des pauvres".
Once seen, this film remains unforgettable - much
like its creator, who spent his last years nurturing
young filmmakers to reach their full potential.
It is therefore natural that this contest bears
his name, as a fitting tribute to a great master.
The "Mohamed Reggab Prize" is open to applicants
that are passionate about cinema, ages 18 to 35.
The Mohamed Reggab price allowed to realize
eight films until now.
