Summary
:
A cop is killed. In a matter of minutes, Samy's
life is turned upside down from carefreeness to
guilt. His only chance is to run away to his other
home, Algeria, to escape the law.
He then arrives to a country where he's a stranger,
a place where many stories are told. Samy meets
his grand father, his cousin Issam who turns out
to be a schemer, and a beautiful female cousin,
Nadia, a pregnant widow.
The relationship between Issam and Nadia is full
of hatred and rage. On the other hand, Sammy cannot
seem to get rid of the ghost that haunts him.
"Les Chemins de l'oued" has been awarded
at the Toronto Festival in 2002.
